She was my absolute idol growing up. To this day, something about her voice is so nostalgic and comforting to me.
There was a time when Lindsay came out with hit after hit movie. I loved and watched them all, even if I didn’t completely understand it (Mean Girls, for one) up until the start of her troubled years. Poor, poor Lindsay. Times are so different now, aren’t they? Back then, celebrities like her begged for the paparazzi to stop following them. Now, they’re called upon. Look at me, look at me!
As a fan, it hurt to see her hurt. A part of me wondered if she’d ever even come back from where she’d fallen. But if miracles are real, Lindsay’s comeback would be a prime example of such.
It’s crazy how she’s picked herself back up. So many actresses and celebrities during her era fell into the deep end, never really able to regain themselves. Lost and tainted by fame, they are forever scarred by the Hollywood system and all of the damage it’d left.
So for Lindsay Lohan, a previous drug addict with more than a troubled past, to regain her sense of self, talent, and love for what she does best, is an absolutely incredible feat to say the very least. I cannot be more proud of her, and I actually can’t believe it’s taken me this long to even write this post.

Freaky Friday
This. This movie. I wanted to look like Anna Coleman, highlights, eyeliner and all. You guys don’t understand. I thought her getting detention was so cool. Playing guitar. Screaming and slamming doors. She was the teenager I wanted to be.
And Jamie Lee Curtis? Chad Michael Murray? Enough said. The entire cast is just incredible. So many iconic scenes and moments. Ducatis. Hit me baby one more time. Pink Slip. Chinese food. Yes, I’ll go pick up the Volvo. What about the rehearsal dinner?
Kind of uncanny how this movie is making a comeback. Another cult classic for Lindsay in the books!

The Parent Trap
As readers may know, this is one of my favorite movies of all time. I’d also elaborated on it on quite a premature post here. It set the bar and standards for pretty much everything in my life upon watching it as a 9-year-old. Camp Walden. Growing up to be a wedding dress designer. Vineyards. More camping. What a movie this was, actually.
And really, who’s standards wouldn’t be high upon watching this as a kid? Nancy Meyers is an absolute legend. People crave for her style and taste these days.
This movie is so close and dear to my heart, that I get slightly defensive whenever it’s mentioned outside the confines of my head. Does that ever happen to anyone? Perhaps it is overly possessive of me, but I stand by it. For example, one time, I was with a group of friends, and this movie was brought up. Someone suggested we all watch it for fun. Thankfully, it did not happen, and the group moved on from it. I’d suffered a close call. The last thing I wanted was to hear the pick me girls in the room dissect the movie completely and ruin it. Because, you know, immature and uncultured people do that.
Suffice to say, I don’t hang out with such people anymore.

Get A Clue
One of Lindsay’s lesser known work in my opinion, but definitely one of my favorites. And yes, Brenda Song is also in this! A classic chic y2k teen mystery. I remember kid mysteries used to be all the rage. Where the heck are they now? I digress.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
Lola. Lola Cep. This movie was a bit confusing to me as a kid but I was obsessed with That Girl. Yes, the girl can sing! I also remember pretty much memorizing this DVD cover and thinking I liked the picture of her in the lower left hand corner best. I suppose these were the kind of things you did as a kid without a phone or iPad.
And yes, Megan Fox is also iconic in this. She plays such a good mean girl, doesn’t she?

Mean Girls
I don’t think much needs to be said about this one. Every once in a while, a rare movie comes along that is completely quotable. Like any line from this movie is a classic quote. That’s pretty crazy. Or should I say, fetch.

BONUS: Lindsay’s Netflix Era
I don’t look too much into ratings, but I’ve actually really been enjoying Lindsay’s Netflix Era. I just love watching her do what she loves. And I have to say, she’s still got it!
