I told ya.
It’s been a while since a modern film has made such good use of the elements the motel knows and loves: romance, seduction, betrayal, parallels, old money prep, the juxtaposition of fire and ice, and most of all: good tennis.
The acting. The score. The fashion. The dialogue. How everything comes together to complete the metaphor of tennis. It’s crazy how so many elements are woven together in a single film.
It’s daring, somewhat tantalizing, no doubt toxic, and tempting you to watch it all over again.
Absolutely blown away.
Though I loved pretty much everything about this movie and all the performances were absolutely amazing, my favorite had to be Josh O’Connor’s portrayal of the fiery Patrick Zweig! I can’t help it, can I?
