The motel’s Christmas movie pick of the year!
Thought I’d come by to wish all my readers a Merry Christmas! And though I may be too little too late (or not, because why can’t you watch a Christmas movie any day of the year?), I wanted to share with everyone my favorite new release for the holiday season!
Hot Frosty started off as a recommendation from a good friend of mine. He can be defined as quite whimsical, one of the most creative people I know, and he could very well be reading this right now!
Anyway, I figured I’d give this movie a shot and ended up loving every second of it. The story revolves around a widow named Kathy who accidentally brings a snowman to life. The snowman is coincidentally insanely attractive but more than that, his wide-eyed innocence and child-like naiveness ends up healing her heart.
I loved that the movie was more than just romance – it was also friendship and kindness. The snowman-turned-human Jack is as lovable as he is handsome, and Kathy’s journey to self love after her husband’s passing is something we can all empathize with. Along the way, there’s plenty of humor and fun, making this a fantastic holiday watch!
After watching this movie, I realized one thing.
There were no phones in it.
No weird text bubbles. No facetiming. No video calling. No scene of the character unnecessarily “learning” about an iPhone, surfing through reels, and getting addicted to Tiktok. The characters all talk and interact with each other in person. The sheriff uses an old flip phone for a second to take a picture. The character at most watches TV.
It’s so refreshing to see. Not every character needs a smart phone, and not every interaction needs to revolve around social media and its connotations. Hope to see more of this trend in future movies!
