Leaves changing color. Fuzzy, warm blankets in tartan plaid. Hot drinks in hand. Smells of pumpkin, sage, and cinnamon. Turtlenecks.
It is autumn.
And to commemorate the start of the motel’s favorite season, below are some of our favorite cozy movies, perfectly paired with a homemade pumpkin spice latte (recipe coming up on the blog!):

- You’ve Got Mail: I will always love the beginning scene with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks walking out of their apartments to the tune of Cranberries’ “Dreams.” Not to mention, her outfits are on point in this movie!
- The Lake House: Reeves and Bullock’s chemistry will forever be the end of me. This movie also introduced me to one of Jane Austen’s more underrated work, “Persuasion” and makes me want to play Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know” on repeat.
- Stuck In Love: A true favorite of mine. The depiction of various types of love stories gives resonance and perspective to such an idealized and, often, misunderstood feeling. There’s a slight coziness to the film, perfect for viewing under a soft, fuzzy blanket.
- Beethoven’s 5th: A real slept on movie! There’s a small town, mystery, hidden treasure, and a big dog. What’s not to like?
